History

Berg Marketing Group began in October of 2013. After a career in Sales and Videography it was time to point our talents in a new direction. It became apparent to both of us that we had the opportunity to share our strengths with the community to showcase the place we call home. In 2013 Derma Medical Spa contracted with Amanda to market their company and help them grow their business. Since then, Derma has expanded their practice from one doctor and one treatmet room to 16 employees and an entire spa offering over 60 services. With this experience and success we have gained the knowledge of what works and what doesn’t. Going through the trenches with a company this closely can give you first hand experience. During the time we were working with Derma, we worked closely in the community on featuring events and building brands of small businesses. Fast forward seven years and we are now a team of three working with several companies on building their brand, designing incredible graphics and creating merchandise.

Director of business development

Amanda Berg

I graduated from WF West high school in Chehalis and studied at Centralia College. I have been in marketing for over 15 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I was a Marketing Consultant for Dex Media for seven years where I gained experience and knowledge in print advertising, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media, website development and sales. I continued my growth in the marketing world and joined The Olympian. Where I continued on- going training and built up my "bag of tricks". I have had the pleasure to build customized marketing programs for many businesses and events around the area. It is such a rewarding feeling to watch businesses that you have helped meet and exceed their business goals.

Giving back to the community is a priority in life. I have been very fortunate in my life in everything I have accomplished and I truly believe that it is my duty to give back. I have worked with the following organizations; Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program, United Way of Lewis County, Doris's Divas (a division of United Way), Chamber Ambassador, Relay for Life of Lewis County, Fiddlesticks Cooperative Preschool and have coached fast pitch softball.

A passion of mine is event planning. Specializing in fundraising events, conventions, corporate events, seminars, customer appreciation events and conferences. This experience has really broadened my resume and has given me invaluable knowledge of the event world.

As a wife, mother to three children and one fur baby, we are constantly on the go! As a family we enjoy traveling, exploring, movies, shopping, skiing, sledding, entertaining and exploring new restaurants.

As our business grows, I know that the community is growing and that is what is important to me. I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

I like to call myself "the Jack of all trades" when it comes to anything computer or camera related due to the fact I've had to adapt and overcome in a lot of jobs.  I grew up in the suburban oasis that is called Lacey.  I graduated from North Thurston High School and attended Centralia Community College.  There I received my Associate of Arts degree with a focus in graphic design.  I transferred to The Evergreen State College where I received my Bachelor's degree in communications with a focus in Film and Video production.

After College I was without a job and picked up an internship at Television Washington (TVW).  I quickly found out that the pace of putting a project together for class was completely different than live TV or taped events.  I learned a great deal in terms of teamwork, accountability, and work ethic in those three short months.  After the TVW internship ended I landed another internship, this time with the Washington State House of Representative Video Department.  The best lesson I learned from that internship was that for a department to excel, or business for that matter, you must have strong leadership.  At the end of that Legislative Session the gentleman who was the full-time videographer/editor left for a new job, and with the Session going into a Special Session I was hired three days after my internship over.  Talk about getting thrown into the fire. I had the pleasure of working for the state for 13 years. After the many years with the State I was hired for a one year contract job at KBTC (Tacoma PBS affiliate) as their promo editor.  The job was much more than that.  It also entailed doing camera work, studio work, audio work...remember that line about Jack of all trades?  Well, I totally embodied that saying there.

After my contract was up Amanda asked what I wanted to do next and I said, "I want to combine forces with you and grow your/ our marketing business.  We complement each other's skills so well that we'd do great."  She still made me go through a job interview before she said yes.

We live in a great community, and having the opportunity to showcase the place we call "home" is a great responsibility and a wonderful honor to have.
